Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) maker VinFast sold 10,922 units in August, lifting its year-to-date total to 89,970 and sustaining its top position in the domestic market.

VinFast’s monthly sales have remained steady at around 11,000 units, far ahead of other brands, the company reported on September 12.

VF 5 led August sales with 2,745 units, raising the total so far this year to 27,109. Its variant for transport service providers, Herio Green, also recorded 2,395 vehicles delivered to customers, strengthening VinFast’s dominance in the A-SUV segment.

VF 3 followed with 2,481 units sold in August. With 28,704 cars delivered since January, it is currently Vietnam’s best-selling model, dubbed a “national car” for its affordability, eye-catching design, and broad appeal.

VF 6 ranked fourth with 2,038 units last month and 12,492 so far this year. It has become the leading choice in the B-SUV segment, valued for durability, modern technology, and suitability for young users.

In the C-SUV segment, VF 7 continued to attract customers with its stylish design and strong performance, recording 718 units in August and 5,099 since the beginning of the year.

Other models, including VF 8, VF 9, Nerio Green and Limo Green, also contributed to VinFast’s August results. Notably, the first Limo Green vehicles were delivered on August 5, marking the firm’s entry into the seven-seat MPV market for families and service providers.

Duong Thi Thu Trang, Deputy CEO of Global Sales at VinFast, said the company expects stronger growth in the year-end peak season, supported by both its new models and established product range.

VinFast currently offers the broadest portfolio of pure EVs in Vietnam, from mini-SUVs and A-SUVs to E-SUVs and MPVs. It also plans to launch additional models, including Minio Green for transport businesses, the small cargo model EC Van, and compact electric buses for public transport./.
