- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked for faster development of space science and technology, stressing the need to explore space, master technologies, strengthen cooperation, pursue sustainable development and ensure a peaceful cosmos.

Speaking at the opening of the Vietnam–Japan Space Horizons 2026 Forum themed “Partnering for the New Era” and the inauguration of the Vietnam Space Centre (VNSC) at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park in Hanoi on March 13, the PM emphasised that Vietnam’s space development must be driven by innovation, international cooperation and the principles of "three accelerations" and "three together". - Chairman of the National Assembly and Chairman of the National Election Council (NEC) Tran Thanh Man has called on voters to carefully select deputies with integrity, competence and credibility who truly represent the people's will and aspirations.

- On March 15, voters across Vietnam will head to the polls to elect deputies to the 16th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term. This political event carries special significance as an expression of the people’ right to mastery to choose worthy representatives.

Le Quang Manh, member of the Party Central Committee, NA General Secretary, Chairman of the NA Office and Chief of the Office of the National Election Council (NEC), said preparations have proceeded in a coordinated, systematic and tightly managed manner, fully adhering to the established timeline and legal regulations. - Reform momentum generated by Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW on private economic sector development, along with improvements to laws governing investment and business activities, has helped drive a rise in enterprises entering the market in the early months of the year.

Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Tam said the resolution, issued by the Politburo on May 4, 2025, has strengthened confidence in the private economic sector. On average, more than 18,000 new enterprises were established each month and over 12,000 resumed operations. Read full story

- The United Nations (UN) on March 11 officially granted certification to the United Nations Staff Officer Course (UNSOC) organised by the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations, recognising it as meeting UN pre-deployment training standards.

Harinder Sood, Head of the Integrated Training Service under the UN Department of Peace Operations (DPO), presented the certificate to Colonel Nguyen Duc Quan, Vietnam’s Military Attaché to the UN. Read full story

- The Minister of Science and Technology has signed a circular issuing the National Artificial Intelligence Ethics Framework, designed to steer the research, development, and deployment of AI systems toward outcomes that are safe, responsible, and beneficial to individuals, communities, and society at large.

According to the circular taking effect on March 10, the framework imposes specific obligations on entities and individuals involved in AI activities. In particular, the AI use must ensure safety, reliability, while preventing harm to human life, health, dignity, honour, and mental well-being. Read full story
