Hanoi (VNA) – The following is a brief review of the day’s events as reported by the Vietnam News Agency.

- The resolute and coordinated implementation of four Politburo resolutions will generate fresh momentum and strong impetus for breakthroughs, Party General Secretary To Lam said, referring to those covering international integration, national energy security, education and training, and public health.

The top leader made the remarks while addressing a national conference in Hanoi on September 16 on the dissemination and implementation of the documents - Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW on international integration in the new situation, Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW on ensuring national energy security through 2030, with a vision to 2045, Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training development, and Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW on some breakthrough solutions to strengthen the protection, care, and improvement of public health. - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, his spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam, left Hanoi at noon on September 16 for the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-46) in Malaysia and an official visit to the country.

The top legislator’s attendance at AIPA-46 is made at the invitation of Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives Dato' Johari Bin Abdul, who is also AIPA-46 President, while his official visit is made at the invitation of President of the Malaysian Senate Dato’ Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah. - The Governments of Vietnam and Singapore on September 16 officially signed an implementation agreement under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement on climate change.

The agreement was signed online by Acting Minister of Agriculture and Environment of Vietnam Tran Duc Thang and Singapore’s Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations Grace Fu. Read full story

- The Vietnam Private Sector Forum 2025 (VPSF 2025) opened in Hanoi on September 15, packing in over 1,500 entrepreneurs, economists, and international organisations across four thematic sessions to reshape Vietnam’s private sector landscape.

This ministerial-level dialogue, the second in a trilogy of local, ministerial, and high-level discussions, focused on fostering a transparent, modern business environment to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving economy. - Vietnam’s Engineering Unit Rotation 4 is ready to depart for the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) Mission, following a series of activities held in Hanoi on September 16.

- An emergency hotline – 112 – has been put into operation to receive information about incidents, natural disasters, risks, and requests for assistance from organisations and individuals nationwide.

Under Decision 2023/QD-TTg signed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on September 15, the hotline connects with existing emergency services: 113 for police, 114 for fire and rescue, and 115 for medical emergencies, as well as the Vietnam Maritime Communication Station System and civil defence networks. - Since its opening in September 2022, the China-ASEAN Mercantile Exchange (CAMEX) has become a hub for thousands of high-quality goods from Southeast Asian nations, including Vietnam, alongside products from China. The initiative supports the goal of making the China–ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) a “365-day non-stop exhibition”.

CAMEX features 17 themed pavilions, including 10 dedicated to ASEAN member states – Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam – as well as a regional pavilion from Guangxi, China. It also hosts a special World Halal Trade Centre and themed areas for other Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) members such as Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia and New Zealand./. PM urges industry, trade sector to pioneer in six key areas

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed that to make a substantive contribution to national development, the industry and trade sector must also achieve double-digit growth, generate new jobs, strengthen traditional growth drivers such as export and consumption, and accelerate emerging engines of growth, including the green, digital, circular, knowledge-based and sharing economies.

Two military officers promoted to rank of Senior Lieutenant General
