Da Nang, German state ink MoU on cooperation

The central city of Da Nang and Thuringia, a state in central Germany, on May 22 signed a memorandum of understanding on establishing cooperative and friendship relations in the fields of human resources development, investment, trade, science, innovation, and cultural exchange.

Berlin (VNA) – The central city of Da Nang and Thuringia, a state in central Germany, on May 22 signed a memorandum of understanding on establishing cooperative and friendship relations in the fields of human resources development, investment, trade, science, innovation, and cultural exchange.

The MoU was signed by Chairman of the Da Nang Party Committee Le Trung Chinh and the Minister-President of Thuringia, Bodo Ramelow, at a meeting in the German state on May 22. This formed part of a working trip to Germany by a trade and investment promotion delegation of Da Nang.

Chinh called on the Minister-President to continue helping Da Nang connect with German organisations and enterprises so as to expand cooperative ties and assist the Vietnamese city to realise its socio-economic development and cultural targets.

He said the working trip marks a new stride in the two localities’ cooperation, and that Da Nang hopes their partnership will generate numerous practical benefits in terms of not only human resources development, investment, trade, science, and innovation but also cultural exchange.

Calling on both sides to actively promote the realisation of this MoU’s objectives, the Chairman voiced his belief that their close cooperation, partnership, and friendship will develop sustainably and prosper.

In Thuringia, the Da Nang delegation had a meeting with the development promotion organisation of this state. They also visited some local enterprises and Marienstift Arnstadt Hospital.

Cooperation between Da Nang and Germany has reaped encouraging results in recent years.

In 2023, Da Nang exported about 30 million USD to and imported some 23 million USD worth of goods from Germany. It is currently home to 13 investment projects totalling over 11 million USD from this European country, focusing on such areas as hospitality, IT, construction consulting, and transportation./.

2025 coffee exports hit target, set for record 7.5 billion USD

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAE), Vietnam exported an estimated 953,900 tonnes of coffee worth 5.45 billion USD in the first six months of 2025, increasing by 5.3% in volume and 67.5% in value compared to the same period in 2024.

Cross-border tourism, trade rebound at Huu Nghi int’l border gate
