Set on the banks of the Thu Bon River in central Vietnam, Hoi An is easily one of the most beautiful towns in Southeast Asia, CNN has said.

Hoi An served as a busy Asian trading port between the 16th and 19th centuries. This cultural milieu remains visible in everything from the mustard-colored shophouses to dining traditions. On the western end of Old Town, narrow pedestrian streets give way to an 18th-century Japanese covered bridge, CNN wrote.

The US Cable News Network gave out seven reasons to visit Hoi An including history, delicious food, Worthwhile souvenirs, Beautiful beaches, and World-class hotels.

In 2018, Hoi An welcomed five million visitors, a 50.8% increase from the previous year, including 3.7 million foreigners.-VNA
