Jakarta (VNA) – The Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Food outlined 10 initiatives to strengthen the resilience of the national food system in facing various challenges.

At the Katadata Sustainability Action for The Future Economy (SAFE) 2025 event on September 10, the ministry's Deputy for Food Accessibility and Security, Nani Hendiarti, said the body is committed to realising sustainable food resilience by increasing production, improving distribution, stabilising prices, and carrying out national programmes for the welfare of farmers and the community.

As reported by Indonesia’s national news agency Antara, the 10 initiatives include restoring the ecosystems and the availability of food-producing land, intensification and assistance for farmers, developing community-based food systems, increasing local food diversification, and increasing animal protein consumption, among others.

The official said these initiatives will be carried out until at least the next five years.

"In the National Medium-Term Development Plan and Presidential Regulation Number 12 of 2025, food security is a priority, along with energy, water, and blue economy," she remarked as quoted by Antara./.
