- Party General Secretary and State President To Lam on July 15 called for stronger public participation in safeguarding national security and social order, stressing that every citizen should play an active role in building safe, peaceful and resilient communities.
Addressing the All People’s Day for National Security Protection in Long Luong village of Van Ho commune, the northern mountainous province of Son La, the leader said that over the past 21 years, the event has become an annual activity of great significance, helping foster the revolutionary spirit, patriotism and national pride while strengthening community solidarity and the close bond between the People's Public Security force and the people, thereby contributing to national security and social order. - Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has urged the northern province of Tuyen Quang to show stronger political determination and apply more drastic measures to promote socio-economic development and achieve its double-digit growth for this year.
The PM chaired a working session in Vi Xuyen commune on July 15 with the Standing Board of the Tuyen Quang Party Committee on socio-economic development, the double-digit growth target, public investment disbursement, the operation of the two-tier local government model, implementation of Politburo Resolution No. 57, and measures to address local challenges. Politburo member, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee, head of the CPV Central Committee's Commission for Internal Affairs, and Standing Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for the Prevention and Control of Corruption, Wastefulness and Negative Phenomena Le Minh Tri on July 15 held talks with Chen Wenqing, Politburo member, Secretary of the CPC Central Committee's Secretariat and Secretary of the CPC Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission, and had a working session with Fu Kui, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and Deputy Director of the National Supervisory Commission of China. - Vietnam is showcasing its rich cultural heritage, tourism and cuisine at the 36th Hong Kong Book Fair, which opened at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (China) on July 15 and runs through July 21.
Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) under the theme "Cultural heritage – Joyful journeys", the fair brings together more than 770 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries and territories. - The Thai Cabinet on July 14 approved an extension of work permits for about 770,000 migrant workers from Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam in order to ensure an adequate workforce for the manufacturing and services sectors and sustain economic activity.
Phatdarasmi Thongsaluaykorn, Deputy Spokesperson of the Thai Prime Minister's Office, announced that the decision was made following a proposal by the Ministry of Labour. The Cabinet also approved two draft announcements submitted by the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Labour, allowing the foreign workers to continue residing and working legally in Thailand./.
