– President Nguyen Xuan Phuc said he hopes to seemore cooperation projects between Vietnam and Singapore while hosting visitingSpeaker of the Singaporean Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin in Hanoi on May 19.

Bilateraltrade is growing positively, with more and more Singaporean-invested projectsin Vietnam, Phuc said, considering the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP)model a symbol of economic collaboration between the nations. Read full story

– President Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented the Ho Chi Minh Awardsin Science and Technology to 49 authors involved in two outstanding projects inthe field of military-defence. The projects have been developed by theMilitary Telecommunications & Industry Corporation (Viettel). They havebeen recognised internationally, comprising two inventions receivinginternational patents, eight others patented in Vietnam and 15 reports releasedat prestigious international scientific conferences. - Vietnam's Trade Counsellor in Russia Duong Hoang Minh hasproposed the Russian Government consider exempting visas for Vietnamesetourists for 15 days, in the context that it has exempted visas for visitorsfrom Laos and Thailand for 30 days.

Speaking at the third SaintPetersburg-Vietnam Tourism Forum, which was held in a hybrid format on May 17within the framework of "Vietnamese days in Saint Petersburg", Minhsaid that Vietnam always creates the most favourable conditions for Russiantourists such as offering a 15-day visa exemption for those to Vietnam and 30days for those on direct flights to its Phu Quoc island. Read full story

PM lauds SK Group’s vision for mutual growth in Vietnam

Vietnam ready to cooperate closely with US in receiving deported nationals

Hang made the statement while answering a reporter’s query about Vietnam’s handling and receiving of Vietnamese nationals deported from the US, as President Donald Trump has announced that he will enact a deportation campaign against illegal immigrants or those with prior criminal records, which include Vietnamese.
