The agreement was reached during the third round of peace talksbetween the two sides in Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia on June 13.
According to Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Thai Ministry ofDefence Nipat Thonglek, active outcomes were achieved from the talks andthe BRN will send the government details about what steps it will taketo maintain peace during Ramadan. He stressed the importance of buildingtrust between the two sides.
The next round of talksbetween the two sides is scheduled to take place after Ramadan, whichwill last from July 9 to August 7.
More than 5,000 people havedied in Thailand’s southern provinces of Yala, Pattani, Narathiwatand Songkhla since the violence first broke out in the area in January2004.-VNA
