in Russia ’s Republic of Tatarstan .

Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting on Food Security
in Russia ’s Republic of Tatarstan .
Taking place from May 30-31 in Tatarstan capital city of Kazan as part of activities to prepare for the APEC Leaders’ Meeting in September in Vladivostok , Russia , the event aims to discuss issues relating to ensuring food security.
Attending the meeting were agriculture ministers from 21 APEC member countries and territories.
The two-day meeting takes measures to ensure and maintain sufficient provision of food and foodstuff and discusses ways to ensure quality of food under international standards.
It also discusses actions to boost agricultural production through application of advanced technology.
During the meeting, Minister Phat plans to meet with new Russian agriculture minister Nikolai Fedorov to deliberate ways to promote agricultural cooperation between the two countries, including Vietnam’s food and seafood exports to Russia.-VNA
