Khanh Hoa (VNS/VNA) - Young people in Nha Trang city are volunteering as free tour guides for foreign tourists as part of the "Tourism Ambassador" programme in order to promote local tourism.
The programme is organised by the Khanh Hoa provincial Youth Union and the “Khanh Hoa people speak English” Project, and aims to promote the culture, history, cuisine and other tourism products of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa to international visitors.
Since around June 7, the start of the Nha Trang Sea Culture - Tourism Festival 2025, primary school students and youth union members have been introducing Nha Trang tourism destinations and answering tourists' questions.
With the ability to communicate in English confidently, the participants are deployed into several information stations around the city to assist tourists.
Dương Thế Bảo, 32 years old, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) Newspaper that he joined this programme to enhance his English ability and promote Nha Trang tourism.
Tran Vu Thao Ngoc, a student at a primary school in Nha Trang, said that participating in the programme has made her more confident and significantly improved her English communication skills.
Many foreign tourists commended the activity, saying that they received clear information about events happening in the city, popular dining spaces and attractive photo-taking spots, and that the young volunteers speak English well.
Additionally, the “Khanh Hoa people speak English” Project has launched the "4.0 Tourism Ambassador" contest, where participants make short videos in English to introduce Nha Trang’s tourism products, culture and people.
The Nha Trang Sea Culture – Toursim Festival 2025, held until the end of June, consists of many attractive tourism activities, such as grand musical performances with international singers, carnival parades, sports competitions, and others.
