- Party General Secretary To Lam attended a ground-breaking ceremony for Ea Rok Primary and Secondary Boarding School in Dak Lak province, jointly organised by the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and the provincial People’s Committee on February 11.

The project is regarded as having practical significance for education and training, as well as for the socio-economic development of the province. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reaffirmed Vietnam’s firm resolve to build an international financial centre at the launch ceremony of the Vietnam International Financial Centre in Ho Chi Minh City (VIFC-HCMC) on February 11, saying the direction is clear, mechanisms are ready, resources are available, determination is steadfast, and success is within reach.

In his remarks, the PM said the development of an IFC is both an objective requirement and a strategic choice for Vietnam, as well as a concrete step in its development path. The centre is expected to attract and steer capital into priority sectors such as strategic infrastructure, core industries, logistics, green growth and digital transformation, while equipping Vietnamese businesses with modern financial tools to deepen their participation in global value chains. It will also help shift Vietnam’s role from a passive capital recipient to an active contributor to regional and global financial markets. Read full story

- Vietnam is one of the strongest partners of Norway in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Norwegian Minister of International Development Åsmund Aukrust told the Vietnam News Agency on the occasion of his working visit to Vietnam.

Minister Aukrust said that he sees many possibilities for even stronger relationship between Norway and Vietnam, underpinned by shared values such as trust in and respect for international law and the United Nations Charter. He said the two countries are working closely together to address climate challenges and cooperating in areas of mutual interest, including energy, fisheries and ocean governance. These commonalities, he stressed, provided ample room for the bilateral partnership to develop further. Read full story

- Lao Ambassador to France Kalamoungkhoune Souphanouvong has extended warm congratulations to the Party, State and people of Vietnam on the successful 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, reaffirming that Laos always values and takes pride in the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

During his visit to the Vietnamese Embassy in France on February 10, the ambassador also extended New Year wishes to all embassy officials and staff. Read full story

- The northern province of Bac Ninh continues to affirm its position as a leading destination for enterprises from the Republic of Korea (RoK) in Vietnam, ranking first nationwide in both number of projects and total registered investment capital.

According to Nguyen Cong Thong, Chairman of the Vietnam–RoK Friendship Association of Bac Ninh province, the RoK remains the largest foreign investor in the locality, with more than 1,140 valid projects and total registered capital of about 18.5 billion USD, accounting for the largest share among 42 countries and territories investing in the province. - The Vietnam Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation (VSDC) announced that an additional 368 foreign investors and foreign-invested economic organisations owning more than 50% of charter capital (18 organisations and 350 individuals) were granted securities trading codes in January 2026.

VSDC also approved changes in information for 42 foreign investors, including two organisations and 40 individuals, and canceled securities trading codes for seven foreign investors (two individuals and five organisations)./. Read full story
