Hanoi (VNA) – French magazine L'Automobile has highlighted VinFast's strong growth in the Vietnamese market, as the the sales of Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup's electric vehicle maker surged 72% year on year in the first half of 2026 and exceeded 100,000 vehicles for the first time in a six-month period.
According to L'Automobile, VinFast sold 115,916 vehicles in the first six months of 2026, its highest figure since the company began operations. The result also made VinFast the first Vietnamese automaker to surpass 100,000 vehicle sales in the first half of a year.
The magazine attributed the growth partly to VinFast's continued expansion of its electric vehicle lineup to meet market demand. The seven-seat Limo Green electric vehicle was identified as a significant sales driver, attracting strong interest from transport businesses and taxi operators. After orders opened in 2024, deliveries began in August 2025, providing fresh momentum for the company's sales growth.
In the passenger vehicle segment, L'Automobile said VinFast's all-electric strategy was also delivering positive results. Along with rising incomes, Vietnam's automotive market is entering a new phase of growth as cars increasingly replace motorcycles as the preferred means of transport for many families.
Against this backdrop, the compact VF 3 electric vehicle is seen as having several advantages, including its small size, suitability for urban traffic and accessible price. Vietnamese government incentives for electric vehicles have also helped stimulate market demand.
According to L'Automobile, the results indicate that VinFast's strategy of focusing on electric vehicles is gradually proving effective in its domestic market. However, the magazine noted that maintaining this growth momentum will depend on the company's ability to further expand its market presence and strengthen its operational foundations./.
