- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called for concerted efforts to complete all set targets for 2025 and the whole term, with focus on accelerating three key solutions - speeding up public investment, promoting science-technology, innovation and digital transformation, and settling bottlenecks to ensure effective operation of the two-tier local government system.
Addressing the Government's meeting on October 5, the PM affirmed that with month-on-month and quarter-on-quarter improvements, and nine-month performance surpassing the same period in 2024, Vietnam is on track to exceed annual and tenure targets. Read full story
- President of the National Assembly of People’s Power and President of the Council of the State of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernández and a high-ranking Cuban delegation visited the Vietnam Military History Museum in Hanoi on October 5 as part of his official visit to Vietnam.
At the site, the top Cuban legislator and his entourage laid flowers at the monument dedicated to Cuban military experts who supported Vietnam during past struggles. They were later briefed on six display themes highlighting key stages in the country’s history, from early state formation and defence, struggles against foreign invasions to national building and safeguarding in the modern era. - President of the National Assembly of People’s Power and President of the Council of State of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernández visited and worked at Nestlé Bong Sen Company and Thang Long II Industrial Park in Nguyen Van Linh commune, Hung Yen province on October 4, as part of his working visit to the northern locality.
President Esteban Lazo Hernández appreciated the modern development of Nestlé Bong Sen as well as the synchronised infrastructure investment at the industrial park, which has laid a strong foundation for attracting foreign investment to the area. Read full story
- The Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Protection of Children’s Rights on October 4 inaugurated a new Child Counseling and Service Office at Hoa Hong Shelter, located on Lam Van Ben street, District 7, aiming to strengthen child protection and care in the city.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Chairwoman of the association Luong Thi Thuan stressed that caring for and protecting children is not only the responsibility of families but also a shared duty of society and the entire political system. For years, the association has supported hundreds of thousands of disadvantaged children, helping them access health care, education, and community integration. Read full story
- A groundbreaking ceremony for the Hanoi Opera House and Thematic Cultural and Artistic Park project was held in Tay Ho ward on October 5 by the Hanoi People’s Committee, marking the beginning of one of the capital’s most ambitious cultural developments in decades.
The project, covering an area of 40 hectares with total investment capital of more than 12.756 trillion VND (over 480 million USD), will be built on the Quang An Peninsula by developer Sun Group, one of Vietnam's biggest real estate players. Read full story
- Hanoi Metro Co. Ltd. on October 4 announced the launch of phase two of its pilot programme on electronic identification, authentication, and biometric recognition on Metro Line 2A (Cat Linh – Ha Dong).
From October 4–15, the trial will maintain the same scope and methods as phase one, while adding weekly tickets alongside single-ride and daily tickets on the “Hanoi Metro” mobile application. Read full story
- The first-ever museum dedicated to the art of unicorn, lion and dragon dances in Vietnam is set to open on October 6 at Hoi An Station 2, within the Sun World Ba Na Hills tourist complex in the central city of Da Nang, announced Nguyen Lam An, Director of the complex.
Covering nearly 1,500 square metres, the museum is designed to honour unicorn, lion and dragon dances, a traditional folk performance deeply rooted in Vietnamese culture. This art form has long been associated with festivals, Lunar New Year (Tet) celebrations, and grand openings, carrying wishes of prosperity and good fortune. Read full story
- Education for Nature Vietnam (ENV) has announced that 91 wild animals were released back into the forest at Tam Dao National Park in late September following successful rehabilitation at the Hanoi Wildlife Rescue Centre.
The release, conducted in cooperation with Tam Dao National Park, aims to restore animal populations, conserve biodiversity, and reinforce natural ecosystems in the area. Read full story
