- Party General Secretary To Lam urged the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) to launch a new-term emulation campaign under the theme “Vietnamese Women: Aspiration – Intelligence – Compassion – Creativity – Sustainability – Happiness” during a ceremony marking its 95th anniversary in Hanoi on October 2.

In his speech, General Secretary Lam reaffirmed the Party's and State’s commitment to advancing substantive gender equality, expanding opportunities for women in leadership, governance, starting a business, and sci-tech. He outlined policy goals focused on bolstering social protection, safeguarding women and children, tackling domestic and gender-based violence, curbing online abuse, and improving early childhood education, maternity care, reproductive health, healthy and safe cultural environment. - State President Luong Cuong held a working session with the Presidential Office in Hanoi on October 2 to review its September performance and set priorities for October.

- During his working visit to Mongolia from September 30 to October 3, National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairman Sen. Lieut. Gen. Tran Quang Phuong has held talks and meetings with leaders of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of the country, during which the two sides agreed to expand bilateral cooperation across various fields.

In October 1 talks with the Vietnamese guest, Deputy Chairman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia Bukhchuluun Purevdorj said that the visit will help promote bilateral cooperation and parliamentary ties between the two countries. Read full story

- The Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRCS) on October 2 launched the second phase of emergency relief for residents in the northern and central mountainous provinces heavily affected by Typhoon Bualoi and its aftermath.

A total of 3.42 billion VND (around 129,565 USD) in goods and cash mobilised through a fund-raising campaign hosted by the society in coordination with the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) to support people in areas affected by floods will be provided for residents in Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, and Quang Tri provinces. - Vietnam has recorded more than 220 billion USD in crypto asset flows so far this year, up 55% from the previous year, reflecting strong demand in remittances and savings via digital services, while underscoring the need to build a regulated domestic market that safeguards stakeholders’ interests.

- Two Vietnamese professors have been officially elected as academicians of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) for the advancement of science in developing countries.

The announcement was made at the 17th TWAS General Conference held from September 29 to October 2 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where the admission of 74 new fellows – the highest number in the academy’s history – was confirmed. NA Chairman attends rehearsal for fourth Dien Hong awards

More than 10 months after the competition’s launch, the organising board received 3,508 entries from 125 media outlets nationwide. After initial screening, 659 works proceeded to preliminary judging, from which a preliminary jury selected 91 entries for the final round. The final jury ultimately selected 64 works for awards.

PM directs tasks to boost economic growth

To fully realise the 2025 socio-economic development plan, while creating momentum for 2026, PM Pham Minh Chinh urged ministers, heads of ministry-level agencies, and chairpersons of People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to strictly follow resolutions of the Party, the National Assembly and the Government, along with the Prime Minister’s directives.
