PM Chinh said the session had adopted 21 resolutions, questioned three ministers and the State Auditor General, provided initial opinions on 11 draft laws, reviewed a supplementary evaluation report on the socio-economic performance for 2023 and early months of 2024, and approved the 2022 state budget settlement.Read full story

- A Vietnamese delegation led by Vice President of Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam Nguyen Hung Son attended the 14th annual conference on East Sea (also known as South China Sea) held by the Washington DC-based Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) on July 11.

The hybrid conference saw the participation of policy makers and officials from the US administration, along with experts and scholars from the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, India, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam and Taiwan (China). NA Standing Committee reviews central bank, anti-money laundering bills

According to the proposal, the SBV law amendments would codify existing foreign exchange rules by incorporating Article 22 of the Foreign Exchange Ordinance into law. The draft also revises the central bank’s special financial mechanism, shifting authority over its financial management regulations from the Prime Minister to the Government.

In the coming days, the MoFA will continue to work closely with the An Giang provincial People’s Committee, the Phu Quoc Special Zone, relevant agencies, the Vietnamese Embassy in India, the Embassy of India in Hanoi and the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City to closely monitor the situation, carry out consular and citizen protection work, and repatriate the bodies of the deceased tourists to India in accordance with the wishes of their families as soon as possible.
