- Party General Secretary and State President To Lam on July 6 requested the Ministry of Public Security's technical services force to become a highly disciplined, loyal and people-oriented corps of top science and technology experts capable of meeting increasingly complex security challenges.

The top leader made the remarks during a working session with officers of the Department of Techical Services under the Ministry of Public Security, stressing that the country's history of safeguarding national security and maintaining social order has underscored the strategic importance of technical services. - Prime Minister Le Minh Hung on July 6 reaffirmed Vietnam’s unwavering commitment to locating, recovering and identifying the remains of fallen soldiers, stressing that the mission will continue until all martyrs’ remains are recovered.

Speaking at a ceremony launching the search and recovery operation for martyrs’ remains at Le Thi Rieng Park in Ho Chi Minh City, the Prime Minister described the event as a sacred occasion and a meaningful expression of the nation’s gratitude to those who sacrificed their youth and lives for national independence and freedom. - Despite continued volatility in global trade, Vietnam's agro-forestry-fishery exports maintained positive growth in the first half of 2026, laying the groundwork for stronger expansion in the remainder of the year.

Key exports, including seafood, fruit and vegetables, and rice, are well positioned to expand into new markets and increase added value. However, they also face mounting challenges from climate change, intensifying global competition and increasingly stringent technical standards. Read full story

- Economic and trade relations between Vietnam and Israel continued their positive momentum in the first half of 2026, driven by strong growth in Vietnamese exports and the effective implementation of the Vietnam-Israel Free Trade Agreement (VIFTA).

According to the Vietnam Trade Office at the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel, bilateral trade was estimated at 1.93 billion USD in the first six months of the year, up 5.5% from the same period in 2025. Vietnam's exports to Israel rose sharply by 35.7% to around 555 million USD, while its imports edged down 0.8% to approximately 1.13 billion USD. Read full story

- Authorities in Lam Dong province have approved in-principle two solar power projects worth more than 5.7 trillion VND (about 218.5 million USD), adding 280 MW of capacity and over 540 million kWh of clean electricity annually to the national grid.

The projects, approved under the revised Power Development Plan VIII (PDP VIII), are expected to strengthen energy security, support green growth and contribute to the province's economic development. Read full story

- Vietnam's pavilion emerged as one of the highlights of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Open Day 2026 in Geneva on July 5, attracting a steady stream of visitors eager to savour authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Many said the experience had inspired them to visit Vietnam in the near future.

The annual public event, held this year to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the William Rappard Centre, the historic building which houses the WTO headquarters, invited visitors to explore the landmark, admire its artworks and enjoy a range of cultural activities along the shores of Lake Geneva. - The Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature) complex in Hanoi kicked off an exhibition called "Quoc Tu Giam in Art" on July 5, celebrating 950 years of Vietnam's first national university in colour, canvas and creativity.

Deputy Director of its culture and science centre Nguyen Van Tu, in his speech, said the month-long show assembles 60 works by 34 artists, capturing the historic site through everything from archival documents to contemporary pieces. Read full story

National Assembly's Party Committee to establish research unit

The Standing Board approved the formation of the specialised research unit, describing it as a necessary step to implement the orientations of the Politburo and the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat while strengthening the NA Party Committee's research and advisory capacity.

Prime Minister reaffirms commitment to recovering all fallen soldiers’ remains

The launch of the search and recovery operation for martyrs’ remains at Le Thi Rieng Park in Ho Chi Minh City on July 6 is part of the nationwide 500-day campaign launched in April in Quang Tri province ahead of the 80th anniversary of Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947–2027), underscoring Vietnam’s determination to better care for people with meritorious service and fulfil the long-standing aspirations of martyrs’ families nationwide.

Vietnam joins global push for energy efficiency

Participation in the Montreal Declaration also provides a foundation for Vietnam to explore deeper engagement with the IEA's multilateral energy efficiency initiatives, offering opportunities to access data, policy experience, technical tools and public-private partnership models in energy conservation.

PM reaffirms commitment to double-digit growth through 2030

PM Le Minh Hung stressed that successfully implementing these focal tasks will not only determine Vietnam's growth performance in 2026 but also lay the cornerstone for strong economic restructuring and a new development model in the years ahead.

Vietnam, Ghana seek to expand cooperation in various sectors

Noting that Ghana became Vietnam's fourth-largest trading partner in Africa and that two-way trade exceeded 1 billion USD for the first time in 2025, Tuan proposed broadening and diversifying traded goods, establishing information-sharing mechanisms on markets, policies and business opportunities, and accelerating negotiations on key economic agreements, including those on double taxation avoidance and investment promotion and protection.
