Khanh Hoa (VNA) – A spectacular street carnival lit up Nha Trang on the evening of July 18 as part of the Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026, drawing large crowds of locals and visitors.
Held at April 2 Square and along Tran Phu street under the theme “Symphony of the Blue Sea – A Convergence of Colours”, the event featured 10 elaborately decorated parade floats and more than 1,500 artists, performers, artisans and beauty queens. Art troupes from Laos, the Republic of Korea, Russia and Vanuatu joined the carnival with lively music, dance and street performances, creating a festive atmosphere along Nha Trang Bay.
The carnival opened with a light-and-music show, followed by performances celebrating summer, the sea, patriotism and the vitality of Khanh Hoa. A motorcycle escort led the procession before the floats paraded past the main stage to enthusiastic applause from spectators. Each float highlighted a distinctive aspect of the province’s identity and development vision.
The parade also reflected the province’s ambitions for sustainable growth through themes promoting green tourism, digital transformation, high-end resorts, renewable energy, marine urban development and logistics, underscoring Khanh Hoa’s aspiration to become a new growth engine in Vietnam’s south-central region.
One of the signature events of the Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026, the street carnival aimed to enrich the province’s night-time tourism offerings while promoting the image of the "Land of Agarwood and Bird’s Nest" to domestic and international visitors. Through music, art and large-scale float displays, it also conveyed messages of sustainable marine economy development, heritage preservation, environmental protection and international integration.
The Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026 features more than 40 cultural, artistic, sporting, tourism and trade promotion events across the province, and is expected to attract between 600,000 and 800,000 visitors./.
