Hanoi (VNA) – The 2026 Dak Lak Durian Festival will take place from August 15 to September 2, marking the province’s first durian festival held on a provincial scale.
The event aims to promote the Dak Lak durian brand, foster sustainable development of the industry, expand markets and exports, attract investment, and showcase the province’s culture and tourism potential.
The festival's opening ceremony will official take place on August 15 at March 10 Square in Buon Ma Thuot ward. Major activities include a parade of around 500 pickup trucks promoting durian, an exhibition with some 400 booths, an online durian and OCOP market, and a forum on building a sustainable durian ecosystem.
Visitors can also enjoy durian-themed culinary events, including an attempt to set a record with 102 durian-based dishes, orchard tours and tastings, art exhibitions, sports events, auctions and cultural performances.
The festival will conclude on September 2 with a special art programme at Phu Yen Square in Tuy Hoa ward.
Organisers expect the event to attract around 300,000 visitors./.
