- Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic CommissionTran Tuan Anh hosted separate receptions for Singaporean Second Minister forTrade and Industry Tan See Leng and Australian Ambassador to Vietnam AndrewGoledzinowski in Hanoi on July 5.

Receiving Tan, Anh expressed his delight at thestrong and extensive development of the Vietnam-Singapore strategic partnershipacross various fields, particularly in economy, trade, and investment. - Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Duong Hai Hung on July 5delivered an important speech, presenting Vietnam's proposals to implement thefood systems transformation programme and contribute to ensuring food securityat the plenary meeting of the 43rd session of the Food and AgricultureOrganization (FAO)’s ministerial conference in Rome.

Ambassador Hung, who is also Representative ofVietnam to FAO, emphasised in his remarks that ensuring sufficient food hasbecome a challenge, especially for hundreds of millions of people in low- andmiddle-income countries. - The representative board of Hoa Hao Buddhism in Ho Chi MinhCity on July 5 held a  ceremony to celebrate the religion’s 84thanniversary (May 18, 1939 - 2023).

- The total value of corporate bond issuances was recorded at42.783 trillion VND (1.86 billion USD) in the first half, according to datacompiled by the Vietnam Bond Market Association (VBMA) from the Hanoi StockExchange (HNX) and the State Securities Commission (SSC).

Specifically, there were seven initial publicofferings with a total value of 5.521 trillion VND, accounting for 12.9% of thetotal issuance, and 35 private placements worth 37.262 trillion VND, or 87.1%. Read full story

- Despite a 4.3% reduction in the volume of foreigninvestment inflows into Vietnam in the first half of the year, experts saidthere are positive signs when looking into the structure of the investment.

Out of more than 13.43 billion USD worth offoreign investment poured into Vietnam in the first six months of this year,newly-registered capital reached almost 6.5 billion USD, accounting for 48.3%of the total, up 31.3% year on year. Read full story

Modern criminal justice system proposed under revised Criminal Procedure Code

The revised code proposes more progressive procedural rules to enhance adversarial proceedings, tighten power oversight and better protect human and citizens' rights. It will retain effective existing provisions, amend or repeal outdated regulations, and introduce new procedures to expedite case handling, reduce procedural costs and improve efficiency while ensuring fairness, objectivity and greater protection of the lawful rights and interests of organisations and individuals. It also aims to modernise criminal proceedings through the wider application of digital technologies and closer alignment with international practices.

Vietnamese community in Thailand urged to strengthen friendship bridge

Vietnam seeks Mauritania’s role as bridge to African Union for deeper ties

Vietnam expects Mauritania to act as a bridge for substantive cooperation between Vietnam and the African Union (AU), said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Gen. Vietnam treasures traditional friendship with Mauritania: FM

The two officials agreed to continue their long-standing coordination at multilateral forums, including the Francophonie, while reinforcing practical collaboration with regional organisations such as ASEAN and the AU, for the benefit of their people and for peace, stability and development in their respective regions and globally.

Vietnam, Laos strengthen cooperation on overseas community affairs

The two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in overseas Vietnamese and overseas Lao affairs for the 2026–2030 period, providing a framework for future collaboration. Laos will send a delegation to Vietnam to study preparations for the World Conference of Overseas Vietnamese, scheduled for December 2026.
