- Party General Secretary and State President To Lam stressed the need to build a modern artillery-missile force capable of fulfilling missions under new conditions, while attending a ceremony in Hanoi on June 29 marking the 80th anniversary of the force (June 29, 1946–2026).

General Secretary and State President Lam praised the force's outstanding achievements, stressing that Vietnam's rapid and sustainable development requires a strong national defence, with the artillery-missile force serving as a key pillar of combat power. Read full story

- National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has called on Hanoi to swiftly translate the orientations outlined in its newly announced 100-year Capital Master Plan into concrete programmes, projects and works, emphasising that implementation effectiveness and improvements in people's living standards should be the ultimate measures of governance capacity.

The top legislator made the remarks while attending a conference in Hanoi on June 29 to announce the Capital Master Plan with a 100-year vision and promote investment opportunities for 2026 in the capital city. Read full story

- Vietnam Airlines on June 29 operated a special flight transporting search-and-rescue and humanitarian assistance teams, equipment and relief supplies to Venezuela to support recovery efforts following the recent devastating earthquakes in the South American nation.

Flight VN66, using Airbus A350 aircraft, departed from Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi at 00:45 am on June 29. After a technical stop at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport in France, the flight continued its journey and is scheduled to arrive at Simon Bolivar International Airport in Caracas, Venezuela, at 12:10 pm local time on the same day. - Vietnam officially launched its domestic carbon exchange at the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) on June 29, marking a major step in linking environmental responsibility with economic incentives and advancing the country’s green growth agenda.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, HNX Chairman Nguyen Anh Phong said the launch is more than a technical milestone. It creates a mechanism that enables businesses to optimise emission-reduction costs through trading emission quotas and carbon credits, encourages technological innovation, and supports sustainable development while maintaining the principle of not sacrificing the environment for economic growth. - A travelling art exhibition featuring works by artists from China and ASEAN countries opened in Hanoi on June 28, offering visitors an opportunity to explore the shared cultural values and artistic traditions of the region.

Jointly organised by the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, the Guangxi Arts University of China and the Lijiang School of Painting of Guangxi, the exhibition features more than 90 selected paintings which cover a wide range of subjects, including landscapes, flowers, birds and portraits. The artworks celebrate the beauty of nature and everyday life while reflecting the inheritance, innovation and creativity of fine arts in Vietnam and China. Read full story

In the coming days, the MoFA will continue to work closely with the An Giang provincial People’s Committee, the Phu Quoc Special Zone, relevant agencies, the Vietnamese Embassy in India, the Embassy of India in Hanoi and the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City to closely monitor the situation, carry out consular and citizen protection work, and repatriate the bodies of the deceased tourists to India in accordance with the wishes of their families as soon as possible.

Vietnam seeks stronger economic links with Egypt's Red Sea Governorate

Senior military officer inspects martyrs’ remains search at Le Thị Rieng Park

Nghia described the ongoing 500-day campaign as a sacred mission that embodies the Vietnamese tradition of remembering those who served and sacrificed for the nation. The current generation, he said, must spare no effort in carrying out the Party’s policy and fulfilling the aspirations of the people, particularly the families of the fallen.

PM calls for building elite, professional international search and rescue force

During its mission from June 29 to July 7, the team worked around the clock under extremely hazardous conditions amid heavily damaged and contaminated disaster zones. Despite the challenges, rescue personnel recovered 57 victims' bodies and handed them over to local authorities and families. They also identified and reported several suspected locations where additional victims might be trapped.

Border community twinning strengthens Vietnam–Laos friendship

Over the past decade, the twinning relationship between Thuy Phong village in Nghe An’s Kim Bang commune, and Xop Tuong village in Nam On commune, Xaychamphone district, Bolikhamxay province of Laos, has become a model for fostering a shared border of peace, friendship and cooperation.
