- Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has directed ministries, sectors and localities to strengthen the management and improve the efficiency of official development assistance (ODA) and foreign concessional loans, while accelerating their disbursement to support the country's goal of achieving double-digit economic growth.
Under Directive No. 27/CT-TTg dated June 25, 2026, the PM called for stronger management and higher-quality preparation, appraisal and approval of ODA- and concessional loan-funded projects, with the goal of fully disbursing the annual public investment plan assigned by the Government leader. - Vietnam and the US on June 25 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to exchange customs data electronically in real time in a move to facilitate bilateral trade, strengthen supply chain security and combat customs frauds amid rapidly increasing trade flows between the two countries.
The MoU was signed in Brussels by Vietnam Customs Director Nguyen Van Tho and Commissioner for US Customs and Border Protection Rodney Scott on the sidelines of the 147th and 148th sessions of the World Customs Organisation (WCO) Council. Read full story
- One year after Politburo Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW on private sector development came into force, Vietnam’s economic landscape has shown brighter prospects, marked by the strong rise of major private businesses and breakthrough institutional reforms.
A report by the Ministry of Finance on the first year of implementing the resolution highlighted fresh momentum in diversifying capital sources and removing administrative bottlenecks. - The Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) on June 26 officially launched a dedicated train service to transport doctors, medical staff and employees of Bach Mai Hospital between its Hanoi and Ninh Binh campuses.

- A record 17 Vietnamese universities have landed spots on the 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Ratings, marking the country’s strongest showing so far.
Leading the pack this year is the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, which vaulted roughly 200 spots to break into the global 101–200 band. - The Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) on June 26 unveiled the Vietnam National Multi-Project Wafer Coordination Centre (VNMPW/CC) - the first national centre dedicated to supporting semiconductor chip prototyping, marking a key step in connecting domestic chip research and design with the global semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.
Addressing the event, Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan said the centre demonstrates the ministry's determination to implement Vietnam's semiconductor industry development strategy through 2030 with a vision to 2050.
