– Party General Secretary and State President To Lam chaired the second meeting of the Central Military Commission for the 2025-2030 term in Hanoi on June 24, during which he emphasised the need for breakthroughs in building a revolutionary, regular, elite and modern army by stepping up the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.
Commending the commission’s performance in the first six months of 2026, the top leader noted that its Standing Board and Party Committees within the army's Party Organisation have maintained unity, discipline and innovation in leadership methods, correctly identified key priorities and implemented comprehensive and effective solutions. – The first working session of the 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) for the 2026–2031 term began at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi on June 24 morning, bringing together nearly 800 outstanding delegates representing more than 5.1 million union members and nearly 22 million young people nationwide.
The congress, which will last until June 25, is not only an occasion to review the achievements of the past term but also a significant milestone in defining the vision, objectives, and tasks of the youth union in the next phase, reinforcing the pioneering role of the younger generation as Vietnam approaches two major historic milestones: the 100th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (1930–2030) and the 100th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (1931–2031). – Vietnam and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation to ensure the comprehensive growth of Vietnamese children, with a particular focus on child care and protection, online safety, and equal opportunities for vulnerable groups.
The commitment was highlighted at a meeting in Hanoi on June 24 between Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra and Silvia Danailov, UNICEF Representative in Vietnam. Read full story
– Many international investors have yet to fully grasp the objectives of Vietnam’s International Financial Centre (VIFC). Rather than competing with long-established global financial hubs, the VIFC is expected to serve as a capital channel to support investment demand and drive Vietnam’s economic growth in the next phase of development.
More than 18 months after first being proposed, the VIFC has moved from an ambitious concept to becoming a reality, following its official launch in early 2026. The completion of the legal framework in June has further strengthened the foundations for the centre’s gradual rollout and operation in the period ahead. Read full story
– Vietnam plans to train at least 35,000 railway workers in the 2025-2030 period as the country is accelerating the development of modern railway infrastructure, particularly high-speed rail projects.

– All educational institutions nationwide are expected to implement communication and educational activities on the prevention of and response to non-traditional security threats under a project approved by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung on June 23.
The project, titled “Communication on the prevention of and response to non-traditional security threats through 2030, with a vision to 2045”, aims to enhance awareness, responsibility and action among authorities, armed forces, businesses and people in preventing, detecting and responding to non-traditional security threats.
