Condolences sent to Timor-Leste over passing of former President

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President To Lam has sent a message of condolences to Timor-Leste President José Ramos-Horta over the passing of Francisco Guterres “Lu Olo”, former President and President of the Revolutionary Front for an Independent Timor-Leste (FRETILIN).

Hanoi (VNA) – General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President To Lam has sent a message of condolences to Timor-Leste President José Ramos-Horta over the passing of Francisco Guterres “Lu Olo”, former President of the country and President of the Revolutionary Front for an Independent Timor-Leste (FRETILIN).

Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung also extended condolences to Timor-Leste Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Bendito dos Santos Freitas and FRETILIN Secretary-General Marí bin Amude Alkatiri./.​

Top leader askes for building modern army based on science, technology

In the first six months of 2026, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence have provided sound strategic advice to the Party and State on military and defence matters, maintained the strategic initiative, and prevented any passive or unexpected situations.
