Hanoi (VNA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung hosted First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Park Yoon-joo in Hanoi on April 3 during the latter’s working visit to Vietnam.
Trung expressed satisfaction with the robust development of the Vietnam – RoK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Briefing his guest on the major development orientations adopted at the 14th National Party Congress, the minister reaffirmed that Vietnam consistently attaches importance to relations with the RoK and hopes the country will continue to accompany Vietnam in realising the goals set at the congress.
Against the backdrop of fast-changing and unpredictable regional and global developments, he stressed the need for both sides to enhance the effectiveness of cooperation, promote bilateral trade in a more balanced and sustainable manner, and facilitate market access for each other’s goods.
The minister highly valued the contributions by Korean enterprises and economic organisations to Vietnam’s socio-economic development, expressing his hope that they will further expand investment in priority fields while strengthening ties in science – technology, innovation, and digital transformation to create new drivers for local growth.
On this occasion, Trung thanked the Korean Government for its support for the Vietnam – Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST) project. He suggested that the RoK continue to promote the career guidance policy for Vietnamese workers after they complete their employment in the country.
For his part, Park affirmed that the two countries have become close and reliable partners across many areas, and reiterated the RoK’s readiness to support Vietnam in achieving its development objectives.
He also proposed the Vietnamese Government continue creating favourable conditions for Korean businesses here to expand investment and improve long-term operational efficiency.
Both sides agreed that the two foreign ministries will maintain close coordination in regional and international issues of shared concern, especially amid the rapidly evolving and unpredictable developments, thereby contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
