- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted a reception in Hanoi on April 2 for Chairman of the Belarusian State Forensic Examination Committee Volkov Alexei Aleksandrovich, during which he called for stronger cooperation in forensic examination between the two countries.
The Prime Minister proposed stepping up delegation exchanges at all levels to enhance cooperation effectiveness, while continuing to share experience in criminal forensics. He also urged increased collaboration in training, including undergraduate and postgraduate education, as well as professional capacity building at Belarusian institutions. Belarus was encouraged to send experts to Vietnam to provide training and practical guidance in the areas of its strength. Read full story

- All Vietnamese vessels operating in the Middle East remain safe despite disruptions to maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang said at a regular press briefing on April 1.
Answering reporters’ questions about Vietnam's response to the situation in the region, Hang said that since the outbreak of conflict, the ministry has worked closely with the Ministry of Construction and instructed Vietnam’s representative missions in the Middle East to closely monitor local developments. - Ho Chi Minh City and the US's Oregon state hold strong potential to develop logistics supply chains, helping boost bilateral trade, experts said at the 2026 Ho Chi Minh City–Oregon Economic Cooperation Forum on April 2.
According to Cao Thi Phi Van, Vice Director of ITPC, the forum took place amid steadily deepening Vietnam–US relations. The US remains Vietnam’s largest export market and a key economic partner, with 1,539 valid investment projects worth more than 12.5 billion USD nationwide. In Ho Chi Minh City alone, US investors operate 915 projects with total registered capital of 7.6 billion USD, ranking seventh among 136 foreign investors in the city. Read full story
- The fourth edition of the 'Suc Song Hang Viet' (Vitality of Vietnamese Goods) showcase and livestream, themed “Food for Vietnamese Consumers”, will run at 62 Trang Tien Street in Hanoi from April 3-5, in response to the Action Month for Food Safety.
Co-hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Agency for Domestic Market Surveillance and Development, the Hoan Kiem ward People’s Committee, TikTok Shop and the National Payment Corporation of Vietnam, the event is all about giving local companies a fresh pipeline to push their products straight to Vietnamese shoppers. - An inauguration and handover ceremony for the Friendship Primary and Secondary School to the Association of Vietnamese in Salavan was held in the southern Lao province on April 2.
Funded by Da Nang city, the project includes a two-storey building with five classrooms, two offices and supporting facilities, at a total cost of nearly 6 billion VND (about 228,000 USD).
