Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia's Ministry of Trade (MoT) has announced the implementation of three key strategies to boost the country's exports, thereby supporting national economic growth amid global uncertainty.
The first strategy is to expand market access by optimising the 25 existing free trade agreements (FTAs), the ministry said in a statement.
Under the second strategy, the ministry is committed to enhancing the competitiveness of exporters, especially micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), through export assistance, business matching and trade promotion.
Meanwhile, the third strategy focuses on diversifying export markets and products by expanding into potential regions such as South Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, thereby reducing dependence on traditional markets.
Referring to specific support measures, Director-General of National Export Development at the ministry Fajarini Puntodewi said the MoT continues to provide market information and work closely with businesses to help them respond quickly to fluctuations in global demand.
According to the ministry, Indonesia's total exports reached 115.36 billion USD in the first five months of 2026, up 3.02% year-on-year, mainly driven by non-oil and gas products.
The ministry expects these strategies to help sustain export growth, enabling the sector to remain a key driver of job creation and foreign exchange earnings./.
