Hanoi (VNA) – Preparations for the first Spring Fair 2026 have entered an especially intensive phase, with pressure significantly higher than that faced during the Autumn Fair last year, participants heard at a meeting held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT)’s Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency in Hanoi on January 28.

Director of the agency Vu Ba Phu urged ministries, sectors, local authorities and construction units involved to accelerate implementation, closely monitor progress and work around the clock in line with the Prime Minister’s directives, ensuring all items are completed on schedule.

He noted that the on-site workload remains substantial, ranging from the construction of exhibition booths, stages and decoration to technical operations, sanitation and safety assurance. All stages therefore need to be carried out in parallel with close coordination to avoid overlap or delays.

At the meeting, participants agreed to organise the opening ceremony in accordance with the task assignment plan. The ceremony organising plan, developed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is currently being reviewed and finalised in coordination with relevant units.

Given the tight timeline, the organising committee decided not to hold a separate press conference. Instead, information on the Spring Fair 2026 will be incorporated into a regular press briefing of the MoIT to ensure timely, consistent and effective communication.

The multi-sector fair will officially take place at the Vietnam Exposition Centre in Dong Anh commune, Hanoi, from February 2 to 13, focusing on consumer goods to serve Tet shopping demand.

Foreign enterprises participating in the event will be offered one free standard booth of 9 square metres, along with other support and incentives in accordance with the organising committee’s regulations./.
