Hanoi (VNA) – The first Glorious Spring Fair 2026, themed “Connecting Prosperity – Welcoming a Glorious Spring”, is expected to be a major trade and service event while also serving as an important political task to stimulate consumption and develop the domestic market during the peak Tet (Lunar New Year) shopping season.

Beyond supporting retail demand, the fair aims to strengthen linkages between production, distribution and markets; expand domestic supply chains and consumption networks; promote Vietnamese products and brands; and boost cooperation, investment and trade. It will also help spread national cultural values and create a vibrant festive atmosphere for the traditional holiday.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), the event builds on the success of the first Autumn Fair 2025, which was hailed as Vietnam’s first national-scale “super fair”. That event featured an exhibition area of up to 130,000 sq.m, around 3,000 booths, participation of about 2,500 domestic and foreign businesses, and an average of 100,000 visitors per day.

The Glorious Spring Fair 2026 will take place at the Vietnam Exposition Centre in Dong Anh commune, Hanoi, from February 2 to 13. Around 3,000 standard booths will be arranged, alongside outdoor spaces dedicated to cultural, culinary and experiential activities.

Designed in a modern and synchronised manner, the fair will harmonise trade, industry, agriculture and culture, creating a distinctive Vietnamese Spring setting while ensuring effective exhibition, business networking and visitor experiences for people, enterprises and international partners.

The fair is envisioned as a journey of spring excursions across Vietnam, where economic, cultural and creative values converge. It will be structured into eight thematic zones.

Among them, the “Essence of Vietnamese Culture” zone, led by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will create a “Vietnamese Spring Colours” space to introduce and gradually commercialise products from cultural industries. Tet traditions will be revived through performing arts, music, fashion, handicrafts, cinema, cuisine and folk games, serving as a meeting point between creativity and commerce and helping promote Vietnam as dynamic, innovative and rich in identity.

Another highlight is the “Spring Homeland Journey – Specialties from All Regions” zone, bringing together signature products from provinces and cities nationwide. Localities will showcase regional specialties, socio-economic achievements, trade and investment potential, and cultural and tourism destinations during Tet. This zone is described as the “regional soul” of the fair, linking agricultural produce, specialties and OCOP products with the market.

The “Tet of Reunion” space, hosted by Hanoi, will recreate the traditional holiday atmosphere through handicrafts and craft villages, along with cultural experiences such as calligraphy, making banh chung (square rice cake), demonstrations of traditional trades, and introductions to the capital’s cuisine, costumes and tourism.

Meanwhile, the zone chaired by Ho Chi Minh City will spotlight the city’s economic, industrial, trade, financial, innovation, cultural and tourism development achievements, while conveying its vision of building a smart, sustainable and internationally integrated urban centre. Southern Tet festival experiences, performances and exchanges will be held throughout.

Other zones include “Spring of Prosperity” hosted by the MoIT, “Vietnamese Agricultural Products – Spreading Spring Colours” chaired by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the outdoor “Taste of Spring Connection” space, and the Vietnam International Exhibition on Textiles, Leather and Footwear, Furniture and Handicrafts Value Chain (VIVC 2026).

Together, these zones will form a harmonious picture of economy, culture, consumption and experience, spreading confidence and aspirations for national development and integration./.
