- Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Tran Thanh Man received visiting Attorney General of Malaysia Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar in Hanoi on July 7, during which he affirmed Vietnam’s consistent policy of attaching great importance to and effectively implementing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Malaysia.

The host welcomed the Malaysian Attorney General and his delegation to Vietnam for working sessions with the Supreme People’s Procuracy of Vietnam, noting that the visit takes place as the Vietnam – Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has been flourishing, becoming increasingly close, trustworthy and effective. - Building on Vietnam's long-standing tradition of peaceful diplomacy and President Ho Chi Minh's enduring teaching that diplomacy is indispensable for an independent nation, second only to national defence, Vietnam is entering a new era of the nation's rise with a bold and forward-looking foreign policy vision, marked by the introduction of the Politburo's Resolution 06-NQ/TW.

The issuance of the resolution on May 19, 2026, on implementing the foreign policy adopted at the 14th National Party Congress was a significant milestone. - Vietnam's textile and garment exports were estimated at 22.2 billion USD in the first six months of 2026, up 1.7% year-on-year, according to the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS).

The association said exports of fibres, fabrics, accessories and nonwoven materials recorded solid growth of between 5.6% and 10.6% during the period. However, garment exports slipped 0.4% as consumer demand in key markets remained weak. Read full story

- Vietnam’s coastline is once again in the international spotlight after travel guide Lonely Planet named 10 beaches that international visitors should not miss during a summer trip to the country.

Stretching for more than 3,200 kilometres, Vietnam’s coastline boasts hundreds of beaches, ranging from long stretches of white sand and crystal-clear waters to secluded bays surrounded by lush mountains and tropical forests. According to Lonely Planet, destinations including Nha Trang, Mui Ne, Phu Quoc, My Khe - Da Nang, An Bang, Con Son, Cat Ba, Doc Let, My Khe - Quang Ngai, and Ho Coc each offer distinctive experiences for holidaymakers. - Vietnam is entering a new phase in developing its carbon market by launching domestic trading of greenhouse gas emission allowances and carbon credits, creating a market-based mechanism to drive emissions reduction, foster technological innovation, and strengthen business competitiveness as the country transitions towards a green economy.

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAE) have officially launched Vietnam's domestic carbon exchange, marking a major milestone in the country's efforts to establish a carbon market. Beyond supporting Vietnam's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, the exchange provides businesses with a mechanism to proactively manage emissions by trading emission allowances and carbon credits. - The Phu Quoc Special Zone in the southern province of An Giang has reported a record surge in international visitors and tourism revenue in the first half of 2026, reinforcing its ambition to become a leading global destination as it prepares to host the 2027 APEC Leaders’ Week (APEC 2027).

The Pearl island welcomed more than 5.7 million visitors in the first six months of the year, up 30.2% from the same period last year. International arrivals exceeded 1.3 million, rising 50.3% year-on-year, equivalent to 65.7% of the annual target. Tourism revenue topped 31.5 trillion VND (nearly 1.2 billion USD), up 46%, accounting for more than 80% of An Giang's total tourism earnings. Read full story

- Smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit production and trading, and intellectual property (IP) right infringement remained widespread and increasingly sophisticated in the first half of 2026, affecting business activities, public health and consumer confidence.

The assessment was made by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc, head of the National Steering Committee for Combating Smuggling, Commercial Fraud and Counterfeit Goods, at a national online conference reviewing the performance in the first six months of the year and setting tasks for the second half on July 7./.Read full story

NA leader hosts Malaysia’s Attorney General

National Assembly's Party Committee to establish research unit

The Standing Board approved the formation of the specialised research unit, describing it as a necessary step to implement the orientations of the Politburo and the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat while strengthening the NA Party Committee's research and advisory capacity.

Prime Minister reaffirms commitment to recovering all fallen soldiers’ remains

The launch of the search and recovery operation for martyrs’ remains at Le Thi Rieng Park in Ho Chi Minh City on July 6 is part of the nationwide 500-day campaign launched in April in Quang Tri province ahead of the 80th anniversary of Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947–2027), underscoring Vietnam’s determination to better care for people with meritorious service and fulfil the long-standing aspirations of martyrs’ families nationwide.
