Hue (VNA) – A delegation from Ho Chi Minh City, led by Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, presented 20 billion VND (around 800,000 USD) to support Hue in overcoming the aftermath of recent floods.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Loc expressed deep sympathy for the recent losses caused by storms and floods in Hue. He said the donation reflected the solidarity and compassion of the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Ho Chi Minh City toward their compatriots in the central region. The assistance aims to help residents quickly stabilise their lives and restore production and daily activities.
Loc expressed his hope that the gesture will further strengthen the close ties and shared commitment between the two localities in social welfare and sustainable development. He affirmed his belief that with unity, compassion, and determination, Hue will soon overcome difficulties and continue to thrive as one of Vietnam’s leading cultural and tourism centres.
Vice Chairman of the Hue municipal People's Committee Nguyen Chi Tai thanked Ho Chi Minh City for its timely support and pledged to allocate the funds efficiently and transparently to families most affected by the disaster. He expressed his hope that the strong bond between the two cities would continue to grow, spreading the values of solidarity and mutual support for sustainable development.
On the same day, Vietinbank Insurance presented 140 million VND to Hue’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to aid residents affected by the floods.
According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue city, as of November 9, the city had received more than 88.8 billion VND in donations from organisations, businesses, and individuals, along with thousands of relief items, equipment, and essential goods to support flood-affected residents./.
