Hoa Binh (VNA) – The Lao Government on January 11 bestowed various prestigious rewards on individuals and collectives in the northern province of Hoa Binh for their contributions to the construction of a high school in Huameuang district, Houaphanh province.
The first-class Development Order was presented to the People’s Committee of Hoa Binh province, while the second-class Labour Orders were granted to two collectives and five individuals. Four individuals received the third-class Labour Orders, five the Labour Medals, and three collectives certificates of merit.
At the ceremony in Hoa Binh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Governor of Houaphanh province Khampheng Saysompheng laid stress on the time-honoured solidarity between the two countries as well as the two localities, acknowledging Hoa Binh's consistent support, which has fostered the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation and contributed to Houaphanh's socio-economic development.
For Hoa Binh side, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Bui Duc Hinh described the project as a meaningful gift from the Vietnamese Government and people to their Lao counterparts. As the project's primary supervisor, Hoa Binh province successfully collaborated with Houaphanh to complete the construction on schedule while meeting high technical and aesthetic standards.
He expressed his confidence that the new facility will help better learning conditions for students as well as teaching and management capabilities of the school, contributing to education quality improvement and human resources training in Huameuang district.
Funded through Vietnamese aid, the facility includes a two-story building with 16 classrooms, a multipurpose building, a two-story administrative building with eight offices, specialised subject classrooms, a library, dormitories, and a cafeteria. After nearly four years of construction, the school was put into used in June last year./.
