Gia Lai (VNA) – The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) has built and repaired more than 6,300 houses for poor households and social policy beneficiaries in the Central Highlands, with a total funding of 355 billion VND (about 13.5 million USD), heard a conference held in Gia Lai province on July 30.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung emphasised that the programme is a significant political task, reflecting the compassion, responsibility, and solidarity of the People’s Public Security Force toward ethnic communities in the region.

The programme has been implemented swiftly and comprehensively across localities, embodying the spirit of mutual assistance and ensuring that no one is left behind. The newly built homes meet quality standards and are aligned with local customs and practices, contributing to improved living conditions and promoting socio-economic development, he said.

Tung also noted that the completion of the programme helps strengthen public trust and enhances the bonds between the public security force and the people, particularly in ethnic minority, remote, and disadvantaged areas, thereby laying a solid foundation for maintaining political security and social order in the region.

Major General Le Quang Nhan, Director of the Gia Lai provincial Department of Public Security, said that public security forces in Gia Lai, Lam Dong, and Quang Ngai provinces had actively advised and coordinated with local authorities and residents to complete the programme ahead of schedule, ensured quality, and optimised costs.

The strong cooperation of local authorities, mass organisations, and especially the public will be a decisive factor in ensuring its success.

On this occasion, the MPS also handed over the token of 20 newly-built homes and 20 gift packages from Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang to ethnic minority households, the poor, and social policy beneficiaries in Gia Lai and Quang Ngai provinces.

The same day, the Department of Public Security of Gia Lai province, in coordination with the People’s Committee of Dak Doa commune, inaugurated and handed over two newly built houses to impoverished households in H’Lâm village./.
