Naval Region 3 delegation sets off to bring Tet gifts to island residents

A delegation from the Naval Region 3 Command, led by Deputy Political Commissar Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh, on January 9 set sail for the island districts of Con Co and Ly Son in Quang Tri and Quang Ngai provinces, respectively, where they will present Tet gifts to officers, soldiers, and local residents.

Da Nang (VNA) - A delegation from the Naval Region 3 Command, led by Deputy Political Commissar Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh, on January 9 set sail for the island districts of Con Co and Ly Son in Quang Tri and Quang Ngai provinces, respectively, where they will present Tet gifts to officers, soldiers, and local residents.

Nearly 170 delegates, including representatives from various agencies, organisations, enterprises, and media outlets across localities, have joined the trip, which will run to January 12.

Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Tien, Political Commissar of Naval Region 3, said the trip provides the delegates with a valuable opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the current maritime conditions as well as the living and working environments of officers, soldiers, and residents in central coastal and island regions.

This journey will also help foster appreciation for the silent sacrifices by naval soldiers, he added.

Earlier, Naval Region 3 prepared more than 20 gift packages valued at nearly 25 million VND (985 USD) for officers and soldiers, along with multiple others, including life jackets, boat equipment, and national flags, for local residents./.
