President Ho Chi Minh’s images kept in mind of Bangladeshi people, overseas Vietnamese

Ambassador Nguyen Manh Cuong highlighted the enormous values of Ho Chi Minh's ideology in the cause of national construction, safeguarding, and development, especially in foreign affairs, affirming that the leader's thought on diplomacy remains relevant today and becomes a priceless asset of the Vietnamese people.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Bangladesh has coordinated with a group of Bangladeshi scholars to organise a seminar on President Ho Chi Minh's diplomatic ideology legacy and Vietnam's achievements as an active member of the international community.

The event was held in Dhaka on the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890–2025) and the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30,1975–2025).

Speaking at the seminar, Ambassador Nguyen Manh Cuong reviewed milestones of the life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh, along with his great contributions to the struggle for national liberation and reunification to secure independence, freedom, and happiness for the Vietnamese people.

He highlighted the enormous values of Ho Chi Minh's ideology in the cause of national construction, safeguarding, and development, especially in foreign affairs, affirming that the leader's thought on diplomacy remains relevant today and becomes a priceless asset of the Vietnamese people that has been inherited and flexibly applied by the Party and State in every policy on foreign affairs and international integration.

Scholars and researchers expressed their respect for President Ho Chi Minh and their special affection for the country and people of Vietnam.

Recalling the moment when the people of Bangladesh took to the streets to support Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh shortly after Bangladesh regained independence in 1971, researchers affirmed that the two countries share many historical similarities in their struggles for national liberation. They have always been close friends and supported each other during the national construction and development process.

The Vietnamese people's fight for national independenec and reunification, as well as development achievements, is a source of inspiration for many peoples worldwide to learn from and apply in their countries, according to participants.

On May 16, the embassy coordinated with the Liaison Committee of the Vietnamese Community in Bangladesh to organise a ceremony marking the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh.

At the ceremony, many overseas Vietnamese expressed their respect for and gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh, recounting the affection and admiration of people around the world and in Bangladesh for the Vietnamese leader./.
