Kon Tum (VNA) – Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Glei district in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum Le Viet Nam on January 2 presented an on-the-spot reward to those participating in rescue operations at the serious labour accident that claimed five lives at Dak Mi 1 Hydropower Plant two days ago.
At around 3 a.m. on December 31, 2024, a scaffolding collapse occurred during nighttime construction on the Dak Mi 1 dam, leaving three dead and two missing.
The first missing worker's body was found on January 1 night, while the second was recovered on the afternoon of January 2.
Right after the recovery of the second, Nam presented 20 million VND (785 USD) to the police and military forces that joined the rescue mission.
The project’s investor initially supported each bereaved family with 100 million VND, and Dak Glei district helped each of the families with 5 million VND./.
