Khanh Hoa (VNA) – The medical centre on Truong Sa island has provided emergency treatment for a fisherman who suffered a stroke while working at sea.
The patient, Pham Van Trinh, born in 1988 and a resident of Thanh Hai commune, Ninh Hai district, south central province of Ninh Thuan, is the captain of the fishing vessel NT 91429TS.
According to the Naval Region 4 High Command, at around 2am on February 26, he experienced numbness and weakness on the right side of his body.
By 2pm, he was brougt to the island for first aid. Doctors diagnosed a stroke and coordinated with Military Hospital 175 in Ho Chi Minh City for treatment guidance. His condition remains under close observation.
Military medical forces of islands in Truong Sa district, south central Khanh Hoa province have recently received and provided treatment for many fishermen with work-related injuries, food poisoning, and sudden illnesses.
On February 23, Song Tu Tay island doctors treated six fishermen from Quang Ngai for food poisoning, and on February 21, Son Ca island medical staff provided medical examinations and treatment for six others with stomach pain and respiratory issues./.
