London (VNA) – A large number of Vietnamese students in the UK have demonstrated their financial analysis skills at the finals of Stock Pitch Competition 2025, organised by The Project Darts at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
The event is one of the prominent academic and professional platforms, showcasing financial analysis skills and expanding career opportunities for the Vietnamese student community abroad.
The annual event provides a platform for students to hone skills in financial analysis, company valuation, and investment pitching—essential for careers in international finance. This year’s competition attracted over 150 students from universities across the UK, Vietnam, and other countries.
After three months of workshops and selection rounds, the four top teams—Everest, Peak, Vietstocks, and Wanderers—reached the finals. They analysed stocks of major Vietnamese listed companies such as FPT Corporation, Mobile World Investment Corporation (MWG), and Techcombank (TCB), demonstrating confidence in evaluating business models and domestic market prospects from an international investors’ perspective.
Wanderers won first place with their presentation on MWG stock, followed by Vietstocks and Everest.
Le Phuc Khoa from the University of South Wales, a member of Wanderers, said that sponsorship and expert guidance from experienced finance professionals helped the team’s members adopt a professional investment mindset and gain practical experience in company analysis.
Many students highly valued the competition for its practical value, especially amid the increasingly competitive UK job market. Participants had the opportunity to apply academic knowledge, develop logical thinking, and strengthen presentation and debating skills - key attributes for their careers in finance.
The event enabled students to engage with professionals from investment banks and funds, and international consulting firms, thus broadening their career networks and internship opportunities in the UK. By focusing on Vietnamese stocks, the teams also helped promote Vietnamese companies globally while enhancing students’ understanding of their home market.
The Project Darts was founded in 2022 by a group of Vietnamese students in the UK to support professional skills and build an academic community in finance, consulting, and strategy. The initiative has attracted thousands of members and become a well-known platform for Vietnamese students interested in finance and business.
It aims to expand the competition across Europe and strengthen partnerships with investment funds, businesses, and educational institutions to raise professional standards. Its long-term goal is to make the event a regional academic platform for Vietnamese students, developing high-quality financial human resources and linking them to domestic and international job markets./.
