- Party General Secretary and State President To Lam has asked the People's Security Academy to conduct a comprehensive reform of educational thinking, methods and content to build a high-quality security workforce capable of meeting national security requirements in the new era.
Addressing a ceremony in Hanoi on June 22 marking the 80th founding anniversary of the People's Security Academy (June 25, 1946–2026) and the presentation of its third-time Hero of the People's Armed Forces title, the top leader stressed that the academy must play a pioneering role in training personnel equipped with both professional expertise and advanced digital capabilities. - Prime Minister Le Minh Hung on June 22 attended a ground-breaking ceremony for three large-scale rental housing projects and five metro line projects in Hanoi, marking a major step forward in the capital city’s infrastructure and social welfare development agenda.
The ceremony, organised by the Hanoi People's Committee, was held in a hybrid format, combining an in-person event with online connections to three project sites across the city. Read full text
- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang hosted a reception in Hanoi on June 22 for Acting US Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

- Vietnam is a key priority market for the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) as it looks to expand its investment footprint in the Southeast Asian country, Caroline Vik, Chief Policy Officer at the DFC told the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) during her visit to Vietnam from June 19 to 21.
“We see strong potential for growth and view Vietnam as a great market,” Vik said, adding that DFC sees significant opportunities in strategic sectors such as energy, AI, data centres and financial technology. Read full text
- The northern province of Bac Ninh is stepping up international economic integration efforts and seeking to attract more high-quality foreign direct investment (FDI) through the end of 2026 as part of its strategy for sustainable economic growth and stronger global competitiveness.
According to Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Van Thinh, the province aims to maintain stable and sustainable growth, improve the competitiveness of both the economy and local businesses, and make better use of free trade agreements (FTAs) to expand and diversify export markets. - The Vietnam Asian Schools Debating Championship 2026 (Vietnam ASDC) officially opened in Hanoi on June 21, bringing together 450 secondary and high school students from across Asia for one of the region's most anticipated debating competitions.
The ASDC, first launched in 2009, has attracted contestants from Japan, China, the Republic of Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia and host Vietnam, among other Asian countries and territories. Read full text
