– Prime Minister Le Minh Hung led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to attend the plenary session of the ASEAN – Russia Commemorative Summit marking 35 years of relations in Kazan, the capital of Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan, on June 18.
The plenary session saw the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn, and heads of delegations from 11 ASEAN member states. Read full story

– Vietnam is entering a new stage of development with increasingly demanding requirements across all sectors, making it essential for women not only to participate in the process but to become one of the key forces shaping the country's future, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said on June 18.
Addressing the 14th National Congress of the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) for the 2026–2031 term in Hanoi, the top legislator said that despite numerous challenges during the past term, Vietnamese women and the VWU at all levels had demonstrated solidarity, initiative and creativity, making significant contributions to socio-economic development, national defence and security, foreign affairs, Party and State building, and the fight against corruption, wastefulness and other negative phenomena. – Vietnam aims to establish at least 10 large domestic strategic technology enterprises by 2030 under a freshly-approved plan.
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung has signed a decision approving a plan to develop large domestic strategic technology enterprises in the 2026–2030 period, aimed at advancing digital infrastructure, digital human resources, digital data, strategic technologies and cybersecurity. Read full story
– The International Baby Products & Toys Expo and International Trendy Toys Expo Hanoi 2026 (IBTE Hanoi 2026) opened on June 18 at the Vietnam Exposition Centre (VEC) in Hanoi, creating a major trade networking platform for the toy, children’s products and related industries.
Running through June 21, the event is among the largest of its kind in Vietnam, bringing together more than 500 enterprises from Vietnam, China and other countries and territories, with over 1,000 booths across nearly 20,000 sq.m. Read full story
– Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City 2026 officially opened at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) on June 18, bringing together more than 400 exhibitors from over 17 countries and territories, highlighting the growing dynamism of Vietnam’s automotive industry and its transition toward new-energy mobility.
The exhibition is jointly organised by Messe Frankfurt, Chan Chao International Co. Ltd., and Yorkers Exhibition Service Vietnam. – A cultural programme entitled “Dao Hoc” (The Way of Learning) was held at the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in Paris on June 17, highlighting the enduring values of Van Mieu (Temple of Literature) – Quoc Tu Giam and Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage.
The event formed part of a series of activities marking the 50th anniversary of relations between Vietnam and UNESCO (1976–2026). It was jointly organised by the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, the Hanoi People’s Committee, and the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to UNESCO on the occasion of the 950th founding anniversary of Quoc Tu Giam, Vietnam’s first national university.
