Cuban media highlights Vietnamese university’s global ranking for quality education

The latest rankings released by the UK-based THE recognised FPTU as one of the world’s most influential higher education institutions in creating learning opportunities, developing skills and promoting lifelong learning.

Havana (VNA) – Cuba’s Latin American news agency Prensa Latina has spotlighted the achievement of Vietnam’s FPT University (FPTU), which was ranked 87th globally in the Quality Education category of the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2026.

The latest rankings released by the UK-based THE recognised FPTU as one of the world’s most influential higher education institutions in creating learning opportunities, developing skills and promoting lifelong learning.

It was also placed among the world’s top 300 universities for overall contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), marking the first time the Vietnamese institution has reached this milestone.

In addition, FPTU secured 14th place globally for Decent Work and Economic Growth, ranked ninth worldwide for Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and placed 69th for Sustainable Cities and Communities. In Asia, the university ranked 110th among 941 assessed higher education institutions.

Prensa Latina noted that after only five years of participation in the THE Impact Rankings, FPTU has made remarkable progress, advancing from the 801–1000 group in 2022 to the 201–300 band in 2026. The improvement reflects growing international recognition of the university’s efforts in education, human resources development, community engagement and sustainable development.

Citing THE, the agency emphasised that amid digital transformation, the rapid rise of artificial intelligence and profound changes in the global labour market, universities are expected not only to provide knowledge but also to equip students with adaptability, lifelong learning capabilities and the ability to generate value for society.

At FPTU, this vision is implemented through an education model that places practical experience, global competencies and social responsibility at the heart of its curriculum. Throughout their studies, students participate in business internships, entrepreneurship programmes, interdisciplinary projects, international exchanges and community activities. Alongside specialised knowledge, the university places strong emphasis on fostering innovation, self-learning, adaptability and a spirit of cooperation to help students thrive in the age of AI./.

The recognition reflects FPT’s end-to-end AI capabilities, spanning strategic consulting, solution design, application development, and the integration and deployment of AI systems in real-world operations. Notably, the company has developed IvyHub, an integrated agentic AI platform that enables enterprises to design, deploy and manage AI agents at scale.
