Hanoi (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City is now running the pilot operation of a new grassroots-level local administration model in 102 freshly established wards and communes.
Starting 8 am on June 12, each unit conducts trial operations at its respective public administrative centre, located within the premises of its headquarters.
On June 11, the municipal Party Committee formed 10 working teams, led by members of its Standing Committee, to directly attend, supervise, and guide the pilot rollout of the new model in these 102 communes and wards. The city's leaders are scheduled to participate in trial operations at various locations today.
The pilot programme will be implemented in two phases, with the first running until June 13 and focusing on the direct delivery of essential public administrative services to residents. Phase 2, taking place after June 15, will expand to include services involving municipal departments and agencies, connecting the city's authorities and the public.
Between June 26 and 30, the southern economic hub will conduct review sessions to evaluate the trial and draw lessons before full implementation from July 1.
HCM City's Digital Transformation Centre has developed comprehensive operational scenarios for the local public administrative information system. According to its director Vo Thi Trung Trinh, at least one technician is set to be assigned to each new ward or commune to provide hands-on support during the pilot phase.
Earlier, on June 10, the municipal Party Committee's Organisation Committee submitted a notice on the temporary personnel assignments for the 102 new administrative units./.
