Hanoi (VNA) – The 80th National Day anniversary (September 2) sparked more than 7.2 million searches on the Coc Coc browser from July 1 to September 4, highlighting strong public enthusiasm for the historic occasion.
Key search terms included "2/9" (September 2), "Dai le" (grand ceremony), and "Quoc khanh" (National Day), with interest surging since the latter half of August and peaking on September 2. Users sought information on parade schedules, routes, and viewing spots, while cultural topics also drew attention.
The film Red Rain, inspired by the 81-day battle at Quang Tri Ancient Citadel and premiered on August 22, generated 1.8 million searches in three weeks, with the peak also recorded on September 2.
Meanwhile, the National Anthem was the most searched song on this occasion. Other patriotic songs such as "Viet tiep cau chuyen hoa binh" (Continue writing the story of peace), "Con gi dep hon" (Nothing more beautiful), and "Noi dau giua hoa binh" (Pain in the midst of peace) also entered the trending list.
A government decision to provide each citizen with a 100,000 VND (3.79 USD) gift for the National Day created another surge in online searches, underlining both the symbolic and practical value of the gesture.
Patriotic merchandise, including flags, T-shirts, and accessories, also saw soaring interest as images of streets filled with red flags and people in national colours went viral. Fireworks searches spiked on September 2 as the displays closed the celebrations.
According to Coc Coc, the report not only reflects online behaviour but also mirrors national pride, with millions of Vietnamese expressing unity and love for their homeland during the milestone celebration./.
