Miss Universe Vietnam 2021 finale slated for December

The Miss Universe Vietnam 2021 final will be organised in Ho Chi Minh City on December 17, according to the municipal People’s Committee.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Miss Universe Vietnam 2021 final will be organisedin Ho Chi Minh City on December 17, according to the municipal People’sCommittee.

Contestants can send their applications to the organisingboard from now until September 8 at the website www.hoahauhoanvuvietnam.com.

The preliminary round of the pageant will be organised inHCM City and Hanoi from September 10-24, while a reality show series will takeplace in HCM City and several other localities from September 24 to December17.

The semi-final round will be organised on December 13.

Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 H’Hen Nie, who entered top fiveat Miss Universe 2018 finale, will be a member of the seven-strong jury.

Over 513,000 people supported in disaster response in 2025

Throughout 2025, the Vietnam Red Cross Society maintained its frontline role, rolling out proactive response plans, expanding training and drills, and strengthening public awareness. Forecast-based early action initiatives were implemented in central provinces and major urban centres, contributing to reduced losses, alongside improved coordination in risk monitoring and early warning systems.

Overseas scholar honoured for contributions to national development, Vietnam - Australia ties

The Certificate of Merit recognises Lien’s leadership in 10 Australia-funded projects implemented at Curtin University since 2022, focusing on key areas including energy transition, carbon market development, digital transformation and policy building. Notably, a capacity-building programme for around 200 Vietnamese officials and leaders has helped enhance human resources and promote practical cooperation between the two countries.

Photo exhibitions highlight Vietnam’s unity, Ho Chi Minh City’s dynamism

The events form part of activities marking the 51st anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975–2026), the 136th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, and the 115th anniversary of his departure to seek a path for national salvation. Vietnamese Embassy in Japan ready to take citizen protection measures amid quake, tsunami alerts

The embassy and other Vietnamese representative offices in Japan have been actively guiding the Vietnamese community, especially in high-risk areas such as the northeastern region, on disaster preparedness and response, as well as how to contact representative offices in emergencies. An around-the-clock citizen protection hotline remains in operation to promptly receive and handle information.

All four Vietnamese students sweep medals at Moscow int’l chemistry olympiad

Specifically, two gold medals were awarded to Ngo Hoang Minh, a 12th-grade student at Hanoi–Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, who placed second overall; and Nguyen Thai Minh, an 11th-grade student at the High School for Gifted Students under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-Hanoi), who ranked 11th.

Vietnam - France friendship captured through photographs

The “Lyon – Ho Chi Minh City” exhibition showcases 14 large-format photographs by Adrien Jean, a French photographer living in Ho Chi Minh City, and Tony Noel, a French-Vietnamese photographer based in Lyon. The works are displayed along the exterior wall of the French Residence at 6 Le Duan street, making art accessible to a wide public - from passers-by to photography enthusiasts.
