Hanoi (VNA) – A spirit of trust, expectation and social consensus is spreading among residents of Ba Dinh ward in Hanoi as they followed the opening session of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Early in the morning, local officials, Party members and residents gathered at an online viewing point organised by the ward’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to watch the opening ceremony of the major political event. Their participation reflected strong public interest and high expectations for new policies and strategic decisions that will guide the nation’s development in the coming period.

Broadcasting the opening session at grassroots level helps people understand the Party’s orientations and policies, while also spreading the spirit of the Congress, strengthening public trust and reinforcing social consensus. The initiative is seen as a practical way to bring the Congress closer to daily life and turn its resolutions into awareness and concrete action from the grassroots.

For young people, the 14th National Party Congress opens up new opportunities for learning, development and contribution.

Nguyen Manh Tien, a member of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in Ba Dinh ward, expressed hope that the Congress will set out concrete programmes and action targets to support youth development, enabling them to master science and technology, take the lead in digital transformation, and pursue innovative start-ups.

According to Tien, as the country enters a new development phase with higher demands on human resources, young people will play a key role as pioneers in innovation and international integration.

He said that young people today have strong confidence in the Party’s leadership and are ready to think big, act boldly and take on difficult and new tasks when properly guided.

Confidence in the success of the Congress is also shared by war veterans and retired officials who have witnessed the country’s development over many decades.

Nguyen Viet Van, a veteran in Ba Dinh ward, said the country’s strong progress in recent years demonstrates the correctness and consistency of the Party’s leadership.

He described the 14th Congress as an important milestone to further refine development orientations, ensuring that socio-economic growth goes hand in hand with maintaining national defence, security and sovereignty.

Van expressed his belief that after the Congress, people’s living standards will continue to improve, the country will become stronger and Vietnam’s position in the international arena will be enhanced.

At the age of 86, with 61 years of Party membership, Colonel Nguyen Hung Phong, former Director of the Political Department under the General Department of Logistics of the Ministry of National Defence, said the Congress carries special significance as the country faces both opportunities and challenges.

According to him, the decisions adopted at the Congress will lay an important foundation not only for the next five years but also for the long-term vision of turning Vietnam into a high-income developed country by 2045.

He shared that people are placing great trust and expectation. “With the current cadre contingent continuing the tradition of previous generations, I believe they will fulfil their responsibilities.”

Vo Hong Vinh, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ba Dinh ward, said the organisation will continue to strengthen communication and mobilisation efforts to build strong public consensus for the Party’s policies and decisions.

The focus will be on promoting the intelligence and creativity of all social groups, encouraging people to contribute ideas, participate in supervision and accompany authorities in implementing the Congress’s resolutions so that major policies are quickly translated into practical results.

As the political and administrative centre of the country, Hanoi is not only the venue for the Congress but also a focal point for spreading its spirit nationwide. In recent days, the capital has been decorated with flags, banners and slogans, while streets and public spaces have been cleaned and upgraded, reflecting pride, confidence and aspirations for development.

From residential areas and workplaces to individual citizens, an atmosphere of excitement, responsibility and optimism is spreading. This strong social consensus is seen as a key factor for the effective implementation of the Congress’s resolutions.

From grassroots to central levels, from veterans and senior officials to young people, public trust in the capital is converging into a shared determination. This unity will serve as a solid foundation for implementing the resolutions of the 14th National Party Congress and helping the country move into a new era of strong and sustainable development./.
