Vietnam accelerates adoption of new technologies in laboratory testing, diagnostics

Over nearly two decades, Analytica Vietnam has evolved beyond a conventional trade fair or scientific conference to become a platform for knowledge exchange, innovation, and international cooperation.

Hanoi (VNA) – As Vietnam advances its strategy for breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation, Analytica Ha Noi 2026 is expected to serve as an important platform for translating achievements into practical applications that support the country’s socio-economic development.

The assessment was made by Professor Dang Vu Minh, Honorary President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, at the international trade fair and conference for laboratory technology, analysis, biotechnology, and diagnostics, Analytica Hanoi 2026.

The event, held in the capital from April 22 to 24, attracted more than 150 exhibitors and organisations from countries around the world.

Minh, who is also Honorary President of the Vietnamese Association of Analytical Sciences, Physical Chemistry, and Biology, described the exhibition as one of the most academically significant scientific events held in the country in recent years. Over nearly two decades, he noted, Analytica Vietnam has evolved beyond a conventional trade fair or scientific conference to become a platform for knowledge exchange, innovation, and international cooperation.

Through successive editions, participants have gained access to the latest scientific and technological advances, particularly the increasingly close integration between research, industrial production, and everyday life.

He highlighted that this year's exhibition extends beyond traditional fields such as environmental analysis, green chemistry and food quality control – those of considerable public interest – to include strategic sectors, including advanced materials manufacturing, cleanroom design, and molecular biology applications. These disciplines are increasingly being integrated with other scientific fields to develop innovative and effective healthcare solutions.

Speaking at the event, Associate Professor Le Van Truyen, former Deputy Minister of Health, said Analytica Ha Noi 2026 carries particular significance as ministries and agencies implement major national policies, including the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57 on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, and Resolution No. 72 on strengthening healthcare protection and public health.

He noted that these policies place strong emphasis on areas such as semiconductors, microchips, biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals and gene technologies. Against this backdrop, Vietnam’s pharmaceutical sector is gradually shifting from the production of chemically synthesised medicines toward vaccines, biological products, biopharmaceuticals and biosimilar medicines.

According to Truyen, the exhibition provides a valuable opportunity for scientists, researchers and leading global companies to exchange knowledge, discuss emerging technologies and showcase the latest developments in analytical science, testing, diagnostics and biotechnology in the world and in Vietnam.

Analytica Ha Noi 2026 brings together more than 150 exhibitors and brands from leading global markets, including the US, Germany, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China), Singapore, Switzerland, France, India, Vietnam, Latvia and China. The strong international presence reflects growing demand for advanced laboratory technologies while highlighting the country’s increasingly prominent role as a regional hub for scientific innovation.

A notable feature of this year's exhibition is the debut of the Live Lab experience zone in Hanoi. The interactive facility enables visitors to observe and engage directly with real laboratory workflows, evaluate system performance and explore practical applications of laboratory technologies.

As part of the exhibition programme, visitors can also attend a scientific conference focusing on key topics such as green chemistry, food safety, semiconductor technologies, and molecular biology applications in biopharmaceuticals and pharmacogenomics./.
