Tel Aviv (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to Israel Ly Duc Trung has praised the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) for its pivotal role in disseminating external information and in promoting the image of Vietnam and its people to the world.

Speaking to VNA correspondents in Tel Aviv on the occasion of the 80th traditional day of the VNA (September 15, 1945 – 2025), the Ambassador affirmed that throughout its 80-year history, the agency has always maintained its role as the country’s main news agency, providing official, reliable, timely and comprehensive information in service of the revolutionary cause of the Party, the State and the people. In the external information work, the VNA has been at the forefront of introducing Vietnam to the world in a truthful, vivid and in-depth manner, he said.

With a network of 30 bureaus in countries and territories, the VNA has provided timely and objective articles on the local and regional situation, while helping international friends better understand Vietnam’s foreign policies, socio-economic strategies and achievements.

According to the diplomat, the information provided by the VNA’s bureau in Tel Aviv has offered objective and prompt coverage of the Middle East in general and Israel in particular, thereby contributing to strengthening Vietnam – Israel relations since the two countries established diplomatic ties on July 12, 1993 and Vietnam opened its embassy in Israel in late 2009.

He stressed that amid the complex developments in the region, the information work has become increasingly important and sensitive. The ability of the VNA bureaus, including the one in Tel Aviv, to remain sharp, accurate and objective not only helps Vietnamese audiences gain a correct understanding of regional issues, but also demonstrates the professionalism and responsibility of Vietnam’s revolutionary press in the external information front.

He further commended VNA reporters for their professional integrity and dedication even in difficult and dangerous circumstances. During times of heightened tensions between Israel and Iran, for example, VNA journalists were on the ground, closely following events, providing timely and accurate updates, and covering the lives, concerns and solidarity of the Vietnamese community in different areas.

The diplomat also spoke highly of the close, effective and professional coordination between VNA correspondents and the embassy’s staff in promptly delivering accurate information on community activities as well as in citizen protection efforts when needed./.
