Dong Nai (VNA) – Construction of three strategic transport projects began in the southern city of Dong Nai on July 10 to improve connectivity with Long Thanh International Airport.

The projects, which have a combined investment of around 12 trillion VND (approximately 460 million USD), comprise the expansion and upgrading of Provincial Roads DT769 and DT773, along with the construction of DT770B, all of which are expected to play a strategic role in the region's transport network.

DT769, stretching about 30 km, will connect National Highway 1 at Dau Giay intersection with National Highway 51 at Loc An intersection in Long Thanh ward. Scheduled for completion in 2027, the road will provide a more direct route from the Central Highlands and the South Central Coast to Long Thanh airport while easing congestion on existing transport corridors.

The DT773 project will upgrade and expand a 37-km route passing through six communes and wards, while the nearly 43-km DT770B will run across five communes and wards. Both are expected to be completed in 2028. All three roads are designed for a maximum speed of 80 km per hour.

According to the Dong Nai municipal People's Committee, the projects will complete the city's planned transport infrastructure, improve connectivity between the southern key economic region and the Central Highlands, and reduce travel times from northern and northeastern Dong Nai to Long Thanh International Airport, the Cai Mep–Thi Vai port complex and Phuoc An port.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai municipal People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh described the projects as strategically important to the city's long-term development.

He highlighted DT770B as a key transport corridor linking expressways, industrial parks, logistics centres and Long Thanh airport. Once completed, the route is expected to open a new freight corridor, reduce congestion on existing roads, lower transport costs and improve connectivity between industrial zones, seaports and the airport.

The projects are also expected to strengthen Dong Nai's competitiveness in attracting investment while supporting the growth of manufacturing, logistics and other high-value service industries./.
