Ho Chi Minh City (VNA) – Coastal destinations in Ho Chi Minh City are rolling out a wide range of tourism products, cultural events and sports activities to attract visitors during the 2026 summer travel season.
Alongside service upgrades, local authorities have strengthened measures on public security, accommodation management and food safety to prepare for an expected surge in tourist arrivals.
Vung Tau will host a series of major sporting events, including the PVD Run, the "steady steps for the future" race, the VnExpress Marathon Vung Tau and the Vung Tau City Trail. The events form part of the Vung Tau Jetski Race Event 2026 initiative, which aims to establish the area as a new marine sports destination while promoting swimming and drowning prevention programmes for children.
The local administration is also enhancing accommodation management, food safety inspections and security at beaches and public areas.
Chairman of the Vung Tau ward People's Committee Vu Hong Thuan said the locality is focusing on attracting large-scale tourism projects and developing signature cultural, culinary and sporting events to appeal to both domestic and international visitors.
Night-time tourism is also being expanded. High-altitude fireworks displays will be held every Friday and Saturday evening at Sun World Vung Tau in Phuoc Thang ward, accompanied by live music and seaside food festivals.
Meanwhile, The Grand Ho Tram in Ho Tram commune has introduced new summer experiences, including weekend concerts featuring Vietnamese and international performers, as well as MMA and pickleball tournaments.
Nature-based tourism is also gaining popularity. In Con Dao special zone, the "Nature conservation – Accompanying sea turtles" programme allows visitors to join forest rangers on islands such as Bay Canh, Cau and Tai to observe sea turtles nesting at night, relocate eggs to protected hatcheries and release hatchlings into the sea.
By combining modern entertainment with local cultural and ecological experiences, Ho Chi Minh City's coastal destinations are seeking to offer visitors more diverse and memorable holidays this summer./.
