MWC 2025: Viettel elevates Vietnam’s position on global tech map

At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2025, held from March 3 to 6 in Spain, Viettel stood as Vietnam's sole representative, showcasing the nation's technological prowess on the global stage.

Hanoi (VNA) - At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2025, held from March 3 to 6 in Spain, Viettel stood as Vietnam's sole representative, showcasing the nation's technological prowess on the global stage.

The event attracted approximately 100,000 attendees from 200 countries and featured over 2,400 companies, including industry giants such as Apple, Samsung, Google, Huawei, Qualcomm, Meta, Microsoft, and global carriers like AT&T, Vodafone, Verizon, and Viettel.

The event marked Viettel's eighth year participating in the MWC, where it presented 22 products across three categories: infrastructure, platforms, and applications. These innovations cater to connectivity needs, and data management and processing, serving both enterprises and individual users.

The products were designed for direct observation and hands-on experience, allowing partners and customers to see the creativity and quality of Vietnamese technology.

Viettel's infrastructure offerings included products within the 5G ecosystem, including 5G Private, 5G Open Radio Access Network (ORAN), and 5G Core systems. They also showcased self-designed chips such as the RF-SoC, security chips, and the 5W X-Band FEM chip.

Additionally, digital replicas of telecommunications stations and a suite of logistics robots were on display. Notably, the RF-SoC chip, a core component of the 5G system developed by Viettel High Tech, exemplifies their mastery of core technologies. The ORAN 5G system and cloud-native 5G core network were also demonstrated, highlighting their flexibility and efficiency.

In the realm of digital platforms, Viettel introduced services such as mobile network API provisioning, content delivery networks, data center infrastructure management systems, next-generation cybersecurity platforms, and intelligent traffic management systems. These platforms are designed to enhance data connectivity, security, and management, aligning with global digital transformation trends.

Viettel's digital applications featured a virtual assistant, the meCall video ringtone service, the Mydio audiobook platform, and TV360. Each application aims to enrich user experiences and meet the evolving demands of modern consumers.

The selection criteria for these products focused on innovation and their potential to enhance quality of life and support communities. They also hold significant socio-economic value in Vietnam, markets where Viettel operates, and potential export destinations.

Beyond product showcases, MWC 2025 served as a platform for Viettel to seek partnerships and collaborations. The company engaged with major technology firms to understand emerging trends and assess how Viettel's offerings compare globally.

These interactions provided insights into advanced product design and development from leading nations, reputable companies, and startups, which Viettel aims to apply in Vietnam and other markets.

Viettel's participation underscored its role not just as a telecommunications enterprise but as a pioneering technology corporation, elevating Vietnam's position on the global technology map. The company's presence at MWC 2025 also contributed to enhancing the image of Vietnam and its people at this premier global tech event.

During the event, Viettel formalized business and technological development agreements with global entities such as Visa, China Telecom Global, Pegatron, and Twilio. These collaborations aim to implement advanced technologies, support the construction of modern digital infrastructure, enhance user experiences, and foster digital social development. They also seek to promote smart manufacturing and optimize supply chains, which are crucial foundations of the digital economy.

These agreements are expected to bolster Viettel's technological capabilities and expand its market reach, bringing Vietnam closer to its goal of becoming a leading digital nation where technology effectively serves the economy, society, and every citizen.
